Yellow Belt Requirements

Introduction:
The first level of training for the new student will introduce the foundations for their martial arts training. The emphasis on developing strong rooting through correct stances will help ensure the delivery of strong techniques at the higher belt levels. Therefore, one should focus on studying and practicing the stances during this training period.

This first training period may have three tests – the first stripe test (9th kyu), the second stripe test (8th kyu) and finally the yellow belt test (7th kyu). Check with your sensei for the requirements for each of these tests.
